Each season we plan a few special events that visitors won't want to miss. In May, the Tin Can Tourists gather to celebrate classic trailers and motor coaches dating back to the 1930s. Restored trailers are open for viewing and draw a great deal of attention.
The official camping season wraps up Labor Day Weekend with a live band for the open-air dance, the "Last Hurrah."
- Check with either of the Camp Dearborn Offices for availability, reservations, or for specific dates and times of all events. Families and friends will find ample space for picnic gatherings. Open air shelters are available for rent and perfect for family reunions or any group picnic. Each shelter is equipped with six picnic tables, electricity, a refrigerator/stove unit, a charcoal grill and convenient parking.
- The large corporation will find plenty of space to plan a customized picnic. Open spaces allow for designing the perfect picnic for large groups up to 5,000.
- The children and the fish vary in size at the annual Fishing Derby. The event is free of charge and open to children ages 3 to 15.
